Non-Elastic Binders (Night Time Garments)

Because daytime garments are not to be worn overnight while sleeping, non-elastic binders, or nighttime garments are used to restrict the flow of Lymph fluid from entering into the limb while a patient is at rest or sleeping.  These garments are too restrictive and bulky to wear during the day when the patient is active. Binders can be an integral part of maintaining the Lymphedema Therapist’s results. Binders come in a variety of materials: foam only, neoprene, and foam with Velcro straps.
